What Do I Need to Do For a Princess Party?

Deposits- A non-refundable retainer is required in order to guarantee services. *The princess will NOT  arrive without a paid retainer!!!!!!!!* In the event of a booking made on the day of the party, the princess must be paid the deposit in cash on site before she enters the party. Absolutely no exceptions under *ANY* circumstance!!!!!!!

Cancellation Policy- All deposits are non-refundable. If a party needs to be rescheduled, the deposit will be held and the event can be rescheduled for a mutually convenient date for up to 365 days of the originally scheduled date. If the best date is 365 days plus the next weekend, that is also included. If Enchanted Empowerment must cancel for any reason (which has never happened in 6+ years of party experience!), this contract shall become null and void, all deposit and balance payments shall be refunded, and both parties shall have no further legal recourse against each other.  

Balance- The balance as stated on the confirmation email is due by the end of the performance directly to the performer. Cash or check is accepted. Any unpaid balances by the end of the performance require a $50 late fee for every day the balance is unpaid, billed by invoice, in addition to the original balance, that is also paid directly to the performer.

Tardy Policy- Punctuality is the politeness of princesses! Our performers always leave with time to spare to ensure they are on time to your event. If on the rare occasion they are late more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, you will be refunded $1.25 for every minute past they are late. For example, if the princess is 12 minutes late, you will receive $15 refunded by the next business day. If the princess is more than 15 minutes late, you will receive the entire balance back. Your performer will text you if she looks like she will be late, so you can prepare! You will ALWAYS receive the amount of time you paid for (ie- the princess will still perform the 60 minute party even if she is 5 minutes late).

Surprising Your Child- In our 7+ years of experience in the character performing industry, we have noticed approximately 90% of children who did not know the character was coming will be overwhelmed and shy upon arrival of the character. Only 50% of surprised children warm up to the performer by the end of the event. We estimate that 90% of overwhelmed children would have adjusted more quickly if they had been given time to prepare for meeting their hero. For this reason, we STRONGLY encourage you to NOT surprise your child with our appearance. If you wish to surprise your child, we suggest telling them the morning of your event that a character will be coming. We have printable letters signed by each character that we can send to you for no additional fee that you may use to build excitement in your child and give them something to look forward to! Just ask after you receive your confirmation email!

Extra time- Our performers' overtime pay rate is  $25 per every 15 minutes per performer. If you'd like your performer(s) to stay longer than the package time, the performer(s) may do so if their schedule permits. The appropriate amount must be added to the balance due to the performer(s) at the end of the performance, with a minimum of $25. THIS EXTRA TIME INCLUDES TIME WAITING ON LATE GUESTS!!!
All performers give a 10 minute grace period between the initial "heads up" call and scheduled entrance time. Any time spent waiting longer than the 10 minute grace period is at the discretion of the performer(s) and their schedule(s), and requires extra time charges be added to the balance.

Travel Fees- We will never charge extra for any party located 60 minutes or less from our company headquarters in Manassas, Virginia. We will, however, charge a $25 flat travel fee paid directly to the performer for any party located between 60 and 90 minutes away from our company headquarters. Unpaid travel fees will be invoiced, along with a $50 late fee. Please contact us if you are interested in booking us for an event farther than 90 minutes from manassas.

Gratuity- Gratuity is not included in the listed party price. It is not required or expected but is always greatly appreciated if you felt your performance was particularly magical. It can be paid to the performer directly, in whatever form you paid the performer her balance. All gratuities go directly to the performer and help let them know they're doing a great job!

Number of Guests- All party packages are designed for 15 children or fewer. A fee based upon the owner's supply cost algorithm will be sent to you by invoice after the party if a package for 15 children was purchased but more than 15 children were present.

Responsibility for Costume Replacement- costumes damaged through the actions of a guest that require repair, cleaning or replacement become the financial responsibility of the responsible parent or guest. damages may include food, pets, smoke, etc.

Preserving the Magic- Your performer will arrive dressed and in character. We ask that you treat them as the character they have arrived as and not to address them as their real name or ask questions about their education, costumes, wigs, etc. We are happy to answer those questions by email, Facebook, or phone call later when there are no children around to overhear! Thank you for helping to make a child's day extra special!

Photos- Enchanted Empowerment reserves the right to use any photos sent to them taken by and/or of guests for their own marketing. Sending a photo implies consent for use in marketing without further compensation.

Substance Use- For the safety of our performers and their costumes, please refrain from smoking or consuming excessive alcohol around the performer. The performer reserves the right to refuse to pose for photos with an adult who smells strongly of substances. Because our characters and business are primarily for children, our performers will not pose with an adult who is holding an alcoholic beverage or tobacco product. They will be happy to take a photo with anyone after removing the substance from the frame!

Pets- For the safety of our costumes, please keep pets leashed and away from our performers.

Performer rights- Our performers reserve the right to leave the event with full compensation from the client if they feel unsafe for any reason. These reasons may include behavior of adults or children, circumstances inside or outside the event location, outdoor party locations when it is not between 65F-80F, or substance use.

Child Discipline and Participation-  Please keep at least one adult in the room with the performer and children at all times. Our performers are just that- performers- and not caretakers or babysitters. We cannot create a magical memory for a child if we are in charge of the behavior of 10-15 children at the same time. If a child becomes a distraction or safety hazard to the other children who do wish to participate, the performer reserves the right to find that child's parent and ask for them to be removed from the activity briefly. When they are ready to respect their friends and participate, they may rejoin the activity.

Our performers will never force a child to participate if they do not wish to do so, and we are not responsible for their actions and behavior if they choose not to participate.

Performer Safety/Weather Conditions- For the safety of our costumes, but most importantly, our performers, we will not perform parties outdoors in temperatures below 65F or exceeding 80F. Performers reserve the right to leave with full compensation from the client if they feel unsafe while performing at an outdoor party. this includes feeling lightheaded, etc.
If there is a forecast for any form of inclement weather (rain, hail, wind, snow, etc., with any level of severity, the client assumes full responsibility to find an indoor location instead and notify Party Princess DMV with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Notice is not required if the party has moved from the back yard into the house. If finding an indoor location is for any reason not possible, the event will be rescheduled to a mutually convenient date. If no date can be settled upon, this contract shall become null and void, all deposit and balance payments shall be refunded, and both parties shall have no further legal recourse against each other.  

Force Majeure- If either party must cancel the engagement due to an “Act of God”, “Force Majeure”, riot, strike, or by the order of any public authority, the event will be rescheduled to a mutually convenient date, and the $30 non-refundable retainer shall be retained by Enchanted Empowerment, LLC. If no date can be settled upon, this contract shall become null and void, all deposit and balance payments shall be refunded EXCEPTING THE $30 NON-REFUNDABLE RETAINER, and both parties shall have no further legal recourse against each other.

Exclusivity- In order to preserve the magic for our young guests, Enchanted Empowerment does NOT allow other local companies or uninvited costumed individuals to attend events we are performing at. In the event that duplicates of characters are present, the client must ask the other performers (or costumed individuals) to leave, or Enchanted Empowerment's performers reserve the right to depart immediately with full compensation from the client.
